Multan Sultans have temporarily released Sahibzada Farhan and batting coach Sohaib Maqsood ahead of their important PSL 2026 Multan vs Zalmi fixture scheduled for April 13 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

The decision reflects a player-friendly approach adopted by the franchise management, allowing individuals to recharge during a brief gap in the tournament schedule. According to the team’s spokesperson, this move aligns with internal policies designed to maintain player well-being during the demanding PSL season.

The Sultans’ leadership, including owner Gohar Shah and head coach Tim Paine, have emphasized flexibility and mental recovery for players.

As per the team’s strategy, squad members are encouraged to take time off when possible, ensuring they remain mentally fresh and physically prepared for the challenges ahead. This progressive approach has contributed to a positive team environment throughout the competition.

Farhan’s Outstanding Form This Season

Sahibzada Farhan has been one of the standout performers in PSL 11 so far. He currently leads the tournament’s run-scoring charts with 232 runs in five matches, maintaining an impressive average of 58.00 and a remarkable strike rate of 181.25. His tally includes one half-century and a brilliant century.

The right-handed batter has built a solid PSL career, representing multiple franchises including Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, and Lahore Qalandars before joining Multan. Across 39 matches, he has accumulated 1,138 runs at a strike rate of 141.54, with seven fifties and two centuries to his name.

Sultans Dominating the Points Table

Led by Ashton Turner, Multan Sultans are currently sitting at the top of the PSL 11 standings. They have secured four wins from five matches, earning eight points with a net run rate of 0.941.

Back-to-back victories against Quetta Gladiators and Rawalpindiz have further strengthened their position as strong title contenders in this Multan Sultans squad update phase of the tournament.

Upcoming Fixtures and Challenges

Looking ahead, Multan Sultans have a busy schedule lined up.
