Farhan, Akram Lead Multan Sultans to a Dominating Win Over RawalPindiz

Multan Sultans defeated RawalPindiz by 7 wickets, as Sahibzada Farhan and Faisal Akram delivered powerful performances to take their team to the top of the PSL 2026 points table. This was the fourth consecutive defeat for RawalPindiz that has now pushed them to the seventh position just above the Hyderabad Kingsmen.

Batting first, RawalPindiz had a poor start as opener Yasir Khan was dismissed by Muhammad Ismail in the third over, with only 15 runs on the board.

After that early setback, RawalPindiz captain Mohammad Rizwan and Kamran Ghulam steadied things with a strong stand for the second wicket. Rizwan was then dismissed by Arafat Minhas in the sixth over, making things slightly difficult for the Pindiz again.

Kamran Ghulam then continued and added small partnerships with Abdullah Fazal and Daryl Mitchell before getting out in the 10th over after scoring 35 off 24 balls.

His wicket brought Sam Billings to the crease, who played a strong innings, scoring an unbeaten 56 off 34 balls to boost the total in the final overs.

He also added 33 runs for the sixth wicket with Dian Forrester, who chipped in with a quick 24 off just 11 balls, including three sixes. Due to this collective effort, RawalPindiz managed to score 182/8 at the end of the first innings.

When Multan Sultans came out to bat, they remained dominant from the start of the play. Despite losing Steve Smith early, both Sahibzada Farhan and Josh Philippe played strongly to put pressure on the RawalPindiz bowling attack.

Their big partnership was finally ended by Mohammad Amir in the 12th over, as he got Philippe out with a slower ball. Soon after that, Sahibzada Farhan was also dismissed after scoring 68 off 36 balls, the highest for the Multan Sultans.

After losing both set batters quickly, captain Ashton Turner and vice-captain Shan Masood handled things calmly in the later overs and guided their team to victory with an unbeaten 47-run stand. By doing so, they also helped Multan Sultans to claim the top position on the PSL 2026 points table with four wins in five matches.
