Islamabad United find themselves in a precarious position at 130/5 after 15 overs in their high-stakes PSL 2026 clash against Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium. Despite a blistering cameo from the middle order, the Sultans’ bowling unit has managed to keep the run rate in check with timely breakthroughs.
After being put in to bat by Multan Sultans captain Ashton Turner, United’s innings was characterized by a series of promising starts that failed to convert into substantial scores.
After powerplay, Mark Chapman provided the necessary impetus, striking a rapid 40 off 21 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes. However, his dismissal by the experienced Mohammad Nawaz in the 15th over shifted the momentum back to the bowling side.
Earlier, Devon Conway (26) and Sameer Minhas (28) laid a steady foundation, but were eventually undone by the clinical precision of Momin Qamar, who remains the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/20.
With five overs remaining, the responsibility now rests on the shoulders of Imaad Waseem and Faheem Ashraf. United will be eyeing a strong finish to push their total toward the 180-mark, while Multan's death-bowling specialists look to tighten the screws.
