Matt Renshaw’s Blazing 89 Powers Australia to 196/5 Against Bangladesh in 2nd T20I

Bangladesh made the ideal start after winning key battles during the powerplay, reducing Australia to 44/3 inside six overs. Josh Inglis fell for 11, Cooper Connolly managed just one run, and captain Mitchell Marsh departed for 20 as the hosts seized early momentum.

However, Matt Renshaw and Tim David completely shifted the balance of the contest with an aggressive counterattack. The pair took advantage of loose deliveries and kept the scoreboard moving at a rapid pace.

Renshaw anchored the innings brilliantly, remaining unbeaten on 89 from 52 deliveries. His knock featured four boundaries and five sixes, maintaining a strike rate above 170. The left-hander reached his half-century in just 29 balls before accelerating further during the death overs.

Tim David Provides Perfect Support

While Renshaw held one end, Tim David unleashed his power-hitting skills. The hard-hitting batter blasted 45 from 26 deliveries, striking two fours and four sixes before being dismissed by Abdul Gaffar Saqlain.

The fourth-wicket partnership proved decisive, adding 97 runs and rescuing Australia from a difficult position. Their stand laid the foundation for a total that appeared out of reach after the early wickets.

Following David's dismissal, Nikhil Chaudhary contributed a useful eight runs, while Joel Davies remained unbeaten on 13 to help Australia finish strongly.

Bangladesh Bowlers Show Mixed Results

Nasum Ahmed was Bangladesh's most effective bowler, claiming 2 wickets for 27 runs from his four overs. Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana picked up one wicket each, while Abdul Gaffar Saqlain also struck once.

Despite the wickets, Bangladesh struggled to contain Australia's middle-order assault. The bowlers conceded 152 runs after the third wicket fell, allowing Australia to finish with one of their strongest totals of the series.

Match Prediction

Bangladesh face a challenging target of 197 runs and will need one of their best T20 batting performances to chase it down.
