Pakistan Greens produced a strong all-round display to beat Pakistan Blues by 192 runs in the fifth match of the National Champions Cup 2026. Mohammad Suleman led the way with a brilliant unbeaten century before the Greens&rsquo; bowlers finished the job with a disciplined performance.

It was the Greens&rsquo; third win in a row, which also secured their place in the final. The title match will take place at the same venue on August 18.

The Whites are currently second in the standings and must beat Gold to face the Greens in the final. If Gold wins the match, the Blues will move into the final instead.

Greens captain Shadab Khan chose to bat first, and the decision worked well as his team finished their 50 overs on 302/6. Sameer Minhas started the innings steadily, but eventually went back to the pavilion in the 10th over when the score was just 39.

Omair then tried to steady the innings with Saad Baig, but their partnership lasted for only 29 runs. Mohammad Faiq broke the stand in the 15th over by removing Omair, who scored 33 off 57 balls.

Suleman then came in at No. 4 after Omair&rsquo;s dismissal and changed the pace of the innings. He joined Baig and put the pressure back on the Blues&rsquo; bowlers, putting together a huge 135-run partnership.

Sufiyan Muqeem finally ended the partnership in the 36th over by removing Baig. The batter finished with a valuable 77 off 73 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes.

Suleman continued to lead the innings after Baig&rsquo;s departure and added another 90 runs with Farhan Yousaf for the fourth wicket. Yousaf also played an aggressive knock and brought up a quick half-century to help the Greens post a big total of 302.

In the second innings, Pakistan Blues never looked in control, as their batters kept losing their wickets one after another.

Arafat Minhas was the only Blues batter to offer some resistance, scoring a fighting 38 off 40 balls. However, the rest of the batting line-up, including Sahibzada Farhan and Mohammad Faiq, failed to make much of an impact.

Due to this poor batting effort, Pakistan Blues were bowled out for just 110 in the second innings. They will now hope that Gold beat Whites in the upcoming match, which would allow them to reach the tournament final.

Mohammad Wasim Jr and Shahnawaz Dahani played key roles with the ball as Pakistan Whites pulled off a thrilling six-run win over Pakistan Blues in the third match of the National Champions Cup 2026. Wasim Jr finished with five wickets, while Dahani took four to help their side defend 246 runs in the second innings.

Pakistan Blues captain Sahibzada Farhan chose to bowl first, and his decision worked well as his bowlers restricted Pakistan Whites to 245 in 49.3 overs. Shahzaib Khan fought hard with a half-century, but the Whites struggled to build a big total.

The Whites were in trouble early when Faiq dismissed captain Saim Ayub for 22 in the seventh over, leaving them at 34 runs.

Faiq struck again in the following over, sending back Mohsin Riaz for eight. His second wicket reduced the Whites to 44/2, which put further pressure on him.

After the two early wickets, Usman Khan came in to join Shahzaib. The pair settled things down and added 73 runs for the third wicket before Faiq ended their stand in the 24th over.

Shahzaib then put on another 30 runs with Hasan Nawaz for the fourth wicket. However, Maaz Sadaqat removed him in the 28th over. Shahzaib was the Whites&rsquo; top scorer, making 71 off 85 balls with three sixes and three fours.

Sadaqat picked up another wicket in his next over, sending Khushdil Shah back for one. The lower middle order of the Whites then showed some fight, but the Blues eventually dismissed them to keep the target under 250 in the first innings.

Chasing 246 in the second innings, Pakistan Blues were bowled out for 239 and fell six runs short, despite half-centuries from Mohammad Faiq and Maaz Sadaqat.

The Blues did not get the start they wanted as captain Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed for 17 in the seventh over, with the score at 30.

Faiq then joined Sadaqat at the crease, and the pair helped the Blues recover with a 99-run stand. However, both batters were dismissed in back-to-back overs, putting their team under pressure again.

Sadaqat was the Blues&rsquo; leading scorer, making 59 off 77 balls with six fours and a six. Faiq also played a good knock of 54 from 64 deliveries.

However, the Blues soon lost three more wickets in quick succession, leaving them struggling at 158/6 after 34.3 overs.

The lower middle order then tried to lift the momentum, but Wasim Jr and Shahnawaz Dahani bowled superbly to clean them up and secure a thrilling victory by 6 runs.

Despite the exciting win, Pakistan Whites stayed third in the National Champions Cup 2026 standings with two points. Pakistan Blues, meanwhile, kept hold of the top spot.

Pakistan Whites Secure Narrow Win Over Blues in National Champions Cup

Pakistan Blues made a winning start to the National Champions Cup 2026, beating Pakistan Gold by six wickets at the Multan Cricket Stadium. Captain Sahibzada Farhan led the way with a quick century, while Sufiyan Muqeem and Hasan Ali took four wickets each.

Gold captain Shaheen Shah Afridi chose to bat first, but the decision did not work out as planned. His side was bowled out for 212 in 45.3 overs, despite half-centuries from Shamyl Hussain and Kamran Ghulam.

Gold struggled early in their innings, losing opener Saad Khan for nine in the fifth over. At that point, they had managed only 25 runs on the board.

After losing an early wicket, Kamran Ghulam came in and joined Shamyl Hussain at the crease. The pair steadied the innings with a 75-run stand for the second wicket, with Hussain completing his third List A half-century during the partnership.

Sufiyan Muqeem finally ended the partnership in the 21st over by removing Hussain. The opener scored a quick 50 from 47 balls, hitting six fours and a six. Ghulam and Haider Ali then added 36 runs for the third wicket before Arafat Minhas dismissed Ghulam in the 28th over. Ghulam was the top scorer for Gold, making 63 off 84 balls with six fours and a six.

His wicket led to a quick fall of wickets as Gold struggled to keep their innings together. Haider Ali, however, continued to score runs and tried to keep the side going. He was eventually caught behind in the 42nd over, courtesy of Hasan Ali&rsquo;s brilliant spell.

Gold were 195/7 when Haider was dismissed. The Blues then wrapped up the innings quickly, taking the final three wickets for just 17 runs to bowl Gold out for 212.

Chasing 213 for victory, the Blues reached the target with ease, losing four wickets and having 44 balls left.

Captain Sahibzada Farhan led the chase with a brilliant 102 off 101 balls. His innings included nine fours and two sixes, giving the Blues a strong impetus in the middle.

Mohammad Faiq and Tayyab Tahir also played useful knocks of 30 and 35 in the second innings. Rohail Nazir and Mohammad Irfan Khan then finished the job, adding an unbeaten 19-run stand to take the Pakistan Blues across the line.

Pakistan Blues Cruise Past Gold in National Champions Cup Opener

MULTAN: The Pakistan Cricket Board will use the National champions cup 2026 to assess a group of established internationals and emerging domestic players ahead of the 2027 ICC Men&rsquo;s Cricket World Cup, with all matches to be played at Multan Cricket Stadium from August 11 to 18.

The <a href="https://www.tapmad.com/blog/pcb-replaces-wapda-president-trophy-grade-one-2026-domestic-cricket/7387-5-0">PCB</a> has also opened the tournament to spectators without an entry fee. The move will allow local fans to watch a number of Pakistan&rsquo;s leading players in a seven-match List-A competition that will launch the country&rsquo;s 2026-27 domestic season.

Four sides, Pakistan Greens, Pakistan Whites, Pakistan Blues and Pakistan Gold, will contest a single round-robin phase. The two highest-ranked teams will advance to the final on August 18, with every match scheduled as a day-night fixture beginning at 3pm local time.

The tournament has been structured with the 2027 World Cup in mind. The 44 players selected across the four squads, along with a reserve pool, will give the national selectors an extended look at players competing for places in Pakistan&rsquo;s plans for the tournament in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Several members of Pakistan&rsquo;s international setup will feature. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan have been appointed captains, while Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Hasan Ali, Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Nawaz are among the other notable names involved.

The PCB has also set fixed playing XIs for each team and named 13 reserve players. Those reserves can only enter the competition when a player suffers an injury or concussion, keeping the squads largely unchanged throughout the tournament.

The opening round begins with Pakistan Greens facing Pakistan Whites on August 11. Pakistan Blues meet Pakistan Gold the following day, followed by Blues against Whites on August 13 and Gold against Greens on August 14. Blues then face Greens on August 15, while Gold take on Whites on August 16 before the top two sides meet in the final on August 18.
