Salah Will Play His Last Match: Liverpool Exit Confirmed After Injury

Liverpool FC forward Mohamed Salah will miss the remainder of the Premier League season after sustaining a hamstring tear, according to Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan. The injury occurred during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, with Salah leaving the pitch in the second half.

Hassan confirmed the severity of the issue, stating: “He has suffered a hamstring tear and will require four weeks of treatment.” Liverpool have not yet issued an official update on the forward’s condition.

Injury Blow in Final Weeks of Season

Salah was substituted around the hour mark after appearing uncomfortable, acknowledging supporters as he walked off. Speaking after the match, Liverpool manager Arne Slot said: “Another win and another injury. It’s the story of our season.”

“It’s too early to say, but we all know Mo and how hard it is for him to leave the pitch. For Mo [Salah] to leave the pitch, it shows you something, but we have to wait and see how bad it is.”

The injury rules Salah out of Liverpool’s remaining fixtures, including matches against Chelsea FC, Manchester United, Aston Villa FC and Brentford FC.

Focus Shifts to International Duty

Salah, who has already confirmed he will leave Liverpool at the end of the campaign, is expected to regain fitness in time for the 2026 World Cup. Egypt national football team are scheduled to face Belgium national football team, New Zealand national football team and Iran national football team in the group stage.

The forward has contributed 12 goals and nine assists across competitions this season, placing him among Liverpool’s most productive players once again. He is also the club’s third-highest scorer of all time.

Salah’s recent injury has raised concerns given his previous setback before the 2018 World Cup, when he suffered a shoulder injury in the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid CF.
