Quetta Gladiators Spend Big Before Historic PSL 11 Auction

Quetta Gladiators Spend Big Before Historic PSL 11 Auction

Quetta Gladiators moved early and left little room for guesswork. On Wednesday, the franchise disclosed how much it has committed to its retained core ahead of the PSL 11 auction, offering a rare look into its financial roadmap.

Mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed remains the headline name. He stays in the Platinum bracket, secured for PKR 70 million. The decision signals trust in his match-turning ability, especially on slower tracks where control matters more than pace.

Smart Spending Across Categories

Usman Tariq follows in the Diamond category with a fee of PKR 56 million. His retention adds balance to the bowling group, something Quetta lacked at key moments last season. Hasan Nawaz, locked in the Gold tier for PKR 39.2 million, provides depth in the middle order, while young opener Shamyl Hussain stays on as an Emerging pick for PKR 8.4 million.

These Quetta Gladiators retentions push the franchise’s spending to PKR 173.6 million so far. It is a measured chunk of the total purse, not reckless, not timid either.

With each team carrying a PKR 450 million budget and extra room for direct signings, the PSL 11 auction now feels primed for sharp bidding. Quetta has set its foundation. The rest of the table is watching closely.
