The Pakistan vs South Africa series 2025 is official. The PCB has confirmed two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs from October 12 to November 8. The new WTC cycle has a real bite.
The first Test kicks off at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on October 12. A return to five-day cricket there after years of renovation. Pakistan vs South Africa games never lack drama. The matches will be nerve-wracking, loud, and the stakes will be high, and fans will be on the edge of their seats throughout the series.
The second Test will take place in Rawalpindi on October 20. Fans in Pakistan will be keen to find out if history will be repeated, much like in 2021 when Pakistan shocked the Proteas with a 2–0 series victory. Nonetheless, if we look back at the Pakistan tour of South Africa 2024 squad, there are notable changes in the current lineup.
Next comes the white-ball action. Pakistan and South Africa start a three-match T20I series on October 28 in Rawalpindi before moving to Lahore. T20Is draw huge fan interest as the short format means one moment can change the game.
But it’s the ODI leg that carries the real twist. Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium will host its first one-dayer in 17 years. Fans in the city waited long enough. The roar when the first ball is bowled on November 4 will tell its own story.
PCB’s COO Sumair Ahmed Syed called it “a proud return for Faisalabad” and stressed that starting the WTC cycle against defending champions will push Pakistan’s best. He might be right. The fans are already charged up after a successful tri series win and coming next is Asia cup 2025.
We are sure to have an exciting year ahead in terms of cricket. All Pakistani venues will come alive. For Pakistan fans, this series feels like the start of something bigger. You can watch complete highlights of Pakistan’s multi-format tour to South africa on tapmad.
