Pakistan Women Collapse to 67/8 as Kapp Leads South Africa Dominance

Pakistan Women found themselves under immense pressure after a top-order collapse against South Africa Women, reaching only 67/8 after 13 overs in their allotted 20-over contest.

The innings got off to the worst possible start when Marizanne Kapp trapped Muneeba Ali lbw on the very first ball of the match. Gull Feroza followed soon after, bowled by Kapp for just one run, leaving Pakistan reeling at 3/2 inside the opening over.

Ayesha Zafar briefly attempted to stabilize the innings with a nine-run knock, but Kapp struck again to claim her third wicket. Natalia Pervaiz was then dismissed by Ayabonga Khaka, and Pakistan slipped to 14/4 within four overs.

The pressure continued as Rameen Shamim and Iram Javed were run out, highlighting Pakistan's struggles against South Africa's disciplined fielding. By the end of the mandatory powerplay, Pakistan had managed only 29 runs while losing five wickets.

Aliya Riaz added 10 runs before becoming Shabnim Ismail's lone wicket of the innings. Captain Fatima Sana provided some resistance, remaining unbeaten on 16 from 15 balls, while Tuba Hassan supported her with an unbeaten seven.

South Africa's bowling attack was led by Marizanne Kapp, who finished with outstanding figures of 3 wickets for 15 runs in three overs. Shabnim Ismail conceded only eight runs in her three overs while taking one wicket, while Ayabonga Khaka also chipped in with a breakthrough.

At 67/8 after 13 overs, Pakistan Women face an uphill battle to post a competitive total against a strong South African side.
