Fatima Sana Credits ICC Initiatives for Boosting Women’s Cricket in Pakistan
Pakistan team captain Fatima Sana has praised the International Cricket Council (ICC) for its ongoing support in helping women’s cricket grow in Pakistan. She said ICC’s initiative is very welcoming, as it has given women’s cricket a great boost in Pakistan.
Fatima further said that if Pakistan’s women’s team keeps performing well on the big stage, it will help lift the profile of the game in the country. She also added that doing well in major tournaments is important to increase fan interest and build stronger support for women’s cricket at home.
“If we play good cricket in this tournament, I think in Pakistan, people will be supporting us,” said Fatima Sana while talking to the reporters.
Fatima Sana then praised the ICC’s decision to award Pakistan hosting rights for a future Women’s World Cup, saying it will further help the development of women’s cricket in the country.
“And finally, we got the chance to host the next World Cup in Pakistan, so that’s also a good thing, so I think a lot really depends on this tournament,” said Pakistan team captain Fatima Sana.
