Mohsin Naqvi Is Invited in ICC Board Meeting and IPL 2026 Final as Travel Decision Goes to PM

LAHORE: Mohsin Naqvi has received invitations for the upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) Board meetings and the final of the Indian Premier League 2026 in Ahmedabad later this month.

The ICC is scheduled to hold a series of discussions focused on administrative and cricket-related matters, including further talks surrounding the future structure of the World Test Championship. According to reports, the Chief Executives Committee meeting will take place virtually on May 21, while the Board meetings are expected to be conducted in person on May 30 and 31 in Ahmedabad.

The IPL 2026 final is also scheduled for May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, coinciding with the ICC gathering in the city.

Mohsin Naqvi is invited in ICC board meeting and the PCB chief has also been asked to attend the title clash of the tournament. However, uncertainty remains over whether he will travel to India due to the current political and cricketing relationship between the two countries.

The matter has reportedly been referred to Shehbaz Sharif for approval. Sources added that the PCB chairman has forwarded the invitation to the Prime Minister, who will make the final decision regarding the proposed visit.

The meetings were initially planned for Doha earlier this year as part of the ICC’s quarterly calendar. Those discussions were later postponed because of scheduling complications linked to regional tensions.

The upcoming sessions are expected to include senior representatives from major cricket boards and could play a role in shaping future ICC events and bilateral cricket discussions.

Meanwhile, speculation continues around whether naqvi to attend IPL 2026 final will materialise, with no official confirmation yet issued by the PCB regarding his travel plans.
