Naqvi Hails Lahore Crowd After Thrilling PSL 11 Final

Mohsin Naqvi commended the fans who packed Gaddafi Stadium during the PSL 11 final, highlighting their passion and discipline. The Pakistan Cricket Board chairman described the environment as truly special, crediting spectators for enhancing the overall spectacle.

In an official PCB statement, he acknowledged the crowd’s behavior and enthusiasm, stating, “Cricket fans displayed remarkable discipline and tremendous enthusiasm during the final match at Gaddafi Stadium, creating an electric atmosphere with their passion and energy. I am truly impressed by the love and support shown by the people of Lahore for the game of cricket.”

Appreciation for Both Teams

Naqvi also pointed out how the audience remained fair and supportive towards both sides throughout the contest. According to him, the spectators played a vital role in maintaining the spirit of the game.

“The spectators wholeheartedly appreciated both teams and thoroughly enjoyed the contest, proving once again that the citizens of Lahore have an unwavering and deep-rooted passion for cricket,” he added.

Challenges Behind PSL 11 Success

After the final presentation, Naqvi spoke to the media and reflected on the efforts required to organize the tournament. Despite facing difficulties, he expressed satisfaction over the smooth execution of the event.

“It was a very difficult time, but by the grace of Allah we managed to conduct the PSL in a smooth and successful manner. A total of 32,600 fans attended the final, and the crowd during the playoff matches was also outstanding. Next year, along with the existing venues, new venues will also be added,” he stated.

Looking ahead, he promised further growth for the league, adding, “PSL 12 will be even bigger and better than this edition.”

Zalmi Seal the Title in Style

On the field, Peshawar Zalmi capped off the night with a strong performance against Hyderabad Kingsmen. Led by Babar Azam, Zalmi restricted their opponents to 129 all out in 18 overs after opting to bowl first.

Saim Ayub stood tall with 54 off 50 balls, but lacked support as wickets fell around him.

In response, Zalmi recovered from 40-4 thanks to an 85-run stand between Aaron Hardie and Abdul Samad. Samad struck 48 off 34, while Hardie remained unbeaten on 56 from 39 balls, guiding the team to victory with five wickets in hand and 28 balls remaining.
