Justin Kemp Appointed Head Coach of Pindiz Ahead of PSL 11 Campaign

KARACHI: Debut franchise Pindiz has confirmed the appointment of former South Africa all-rounder Justin Kemp as their head coach for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, which is scheduled to take place from March 26 to May 3. The move strengthens the PSL 11 Pindiz coaching staff as the new franchise prepares for its first campaign in the league.

The franchise revealed the development on Friday through its official social media platforms, sharing an animated graphic featuring Kemp to mark the announcement. The former Proteas star enjoyed a notable international career, representing South Africa in four Tests, 85 ODIs and eight T20Is across a span of nearly six years, bringing valuable experience to his new role as Justin Kemp Pindiz head coach.

While announcing the appointment, the franchise shared a message welcoming the experienced cricketer to their setup.

"A Proteas great joins The Pindiz as our Head Coach! Justin Kemp is here to set standards, shape the culture, and build something that lasts for generations. Welcome to Pindi, Justin," the Pindiz captioned the post.

Courtney Walsh Joins Coaching Staff

Alongside Kemp, Pindiz also strengthened their coaching department by bringing in West Indies legend Courtney Walsh as their bowling coach.

The franchise highlighted Walsh’s legacy and experience while confirming his role in the team’s backroom staff.

"A giant of the game is coming to Pindi. Courtney Walsh, the Caribbean great and one of cricket’s all-time fast bowling legends, joins The Pindiz as our Bowling Coach! Welcome aboard, sir!" The franchise was written on X, formerly Twitter.

Walsh remains one of the most respected fast bowlers in cricket history. During his illustrious international career, he represented the West Indies in 132 Tests and 205 ODIs. Following his retirement, he transitioned into coaching and previously served as the bowling coach of the Bangladesh men's national team while also working as head coach of the West Indies women’s side.

Pindiz Gear Up for PSL 11 Opener

The franchise will begin its campaign in the PSL 11 season on March 28, facing former champions Peshawar Zalmi in a day match at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium.

With a balanced squad featuring both local and international talent, Pindiz will be hoping that the experience of Kemp and Walsh provides the right direction as they prepare for their debut season.
