"Everything is Going Smoothly" – Devon Conway Praises Pakistan Hospitality and "Excellent" Batting Tracks in PSL 11

LAHORE: New Zealand batter Devon Conway has spoken positively about his early experience in the Pakistan Super League, highlighting a smooth transition into the Islamabad United setup during the ongoing season.

Conway, who recently featured in his first PSL appearance against Multan Sultans, said the environment within the squad has helped him settle quickly. “Playing in the PSL so far has been a very positive experience. Our group in Islamabad United is well-bonded, and I’m enjoying myself. I’m looking forward to spending a long time playing cricket here,” he said during a media interaction.

Positive experience on and off the field

The left-hander also pointed to playing conditions as a factor in his early impressions of the tournament. Referring to matches in Karachi, Conway noted the batting-friendly nature of the surfaces. “Those were great memories, and now we are back in Karachi for PSL 11 matches, where the pitches are excellent for batting,” he added.

Beyond cricket, Conway acknowledged the off-field experience during his stay in Pakistan. He praised the hospitality and overall comfort, particularly during his time in Lahore. “Things are going really well here. The hotels have good restaurants, I’ve enjoyed the food, and the people around are very welcoming, so everything is going smoothly.”

Focus shifts to upcoming fixture

Islamabad United are preparing for their next fixture in the tournament, where they will face Peshawar Zalmi at the Gaddafi Stadium. The three-time champions will be looking to build momentum early in the campaign as the league progresses.

Conway, one of New Zealand’s established T20 performers, is expected to play a key role in United’s batting lineup in the coming matches.
