MIRPUR: Pakistan delivered a commanding performance to defeat Bangladesh by 128 runs (DLS method) in the second ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, taking strong momentum in the ongoing series.

Batting first, Pakistan posted 274 in 47.3. The top scorer of the innings was Maaz Sadaqat (75), whose outstanding innings made Pakistan post a strong total. Due to rain delay, the target was revised to 243 in 32 overs. 

Chasing a revised 243-run target in 32 overs after weather interruptions, Bangladesh struggled from the outset and were eventually bowled out for 114 in 23.3 overs. Bangladesh Top Order Collapses

Bangladesh’s chase began on a disastrous note as their top order crumbled under pressure. Tanzid Hasan (1), Saif Hassan (12), and Najmul Hossain Shanto (0) were dismissed early, leaving the hosts reeling at 15/3 within the first five overs.

Litton Das attempted to steady the innings with a fighting 41 off 33 balls, while Towhid Hridoy added 28, briefly raising hopes of a recovery with a 50-run partnership. However, once Litton fell lbw to Maaz Sadaqat, the middle order quickly collapsed.

Pakistan Bowlers Dominate

Pakistan’s bowlers maintained relentless pressure throughout the innings. Maaz Sadaqat delivered a crucial spell, taking 3 wickets for 23 runs in 5 overs, while Haris Rauf matched the impact with 3 wickets for 26 runs.

Shaheen Shah Afridi also played a key role by striking twice early, finishing with 2/22, while Mohammad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf chipped in with one wicket each. Their combined effort ensured Bangladesh never built momentum in their chase.
