Afg vs Can: Ibrahim Zadran Stars as Afghanistan Post 200/4 Against Canada

Afghanistan got off to a solid start with Rahmanullah Gurbaz providing quickfire momentum, scoring 30 off 20 balls with five boundaries. He shared an effective opening stand before falling in the powerplay.

Ibrahim Zadran then took control of the innings, smashing 95 off 56 deliveries, including seven fours and five sixes. His aggressive strokeplay ensured Afghanistan maintained a strong run rate throughout, with 50 runs coming in just 33 balls during a key middle-over partnership with Sediqullah Atal, who contributed a steady 44 off 32 balls.

Supporting Contributions and Late Acceleration

Azmatullah Omarzai added a late flourish with 13 runs from 7 balls, while Darwish Rasooli remained unbeaten on 4 to help Afghanistan finish strongly at 200/4.

Despite Jaskaran Singh picking up three crucial wickets for Canada, Afghanistan’s batting depth proved decisive. Dilon Heyliger also chipped in with one wicket, but the innings was largely dominated by Zadran and Atal.

Afghanistan will now look to defend this competitive total as they aim to extend their winning momentum in the Afghanistan vs Canada clash in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
