Peshawar Zalmi Secure Rahmanullah Gurbaz in Direct Signing for PSL 11

Peshawar Zalmi have signed the Afghan batting superstar Rahmanullah Gurbaz for PSL 2026. The franchise announced the signing through a social media post, stating Gurbaz will bring “extraordinary energy” to the team in the upcoming season.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz is a powerful opening batter who has established a strong reputation in the international cricket circuit lately. He has played for different leagues around the world, which has given him strong exposure to high-quality T20 cricket. Keeping that in view, Peshawar Zalmi have roped him in for PSL 2026, which is expected to be bigger and better.

Peshawar Zalmi announced the signing with an animated social media post, featuring a traditional Pashto phrase, 'Pakhair Raghlay', meaning a very warm welcome.

"We are proud to confirm the direct signing of Afghanistan's star wicketkeeper-batter, [Rahmanullah Gurbaz]," described the caption of the social media post.

"Explosive with the bat. Lightning-fast behind the stumps. A gun fielder with extraordinary energy. A warm welcome to the Zalmi Fam," added Peshawar Zalmi social media post.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Rahmanullah Gurbaz is playing the PSL. He played for Multan Sultans in 2021 before moving to Islamabad United for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Featuring across three seasons, Rahmanullah Gurbaz played a total of 15 matches in which he scored 318 runs at an average of 22.71. The Afghan batting star will look to improve these numbers in the next season by performing well for Peshawar Zalmi. He is expected to open the innings for Zalmi, so fans can expect plenty of fireworks from him in the PSL 2026.  

After signing Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Peshawar Zalmi is looking forward to signing more big names in the upcoming PSL 2026 auction that is scheduled to take place on February 11.
