Khan Mohammad was the first Pakistan bowler to achieve the feat, taking 5 for 112 in 1954. Fazal Mahmood also claimed five wickets in that match, with Asif Masood following in 1971 with 5 for 111.

Mudassar Nazar recorded the best figures among Pakistan&rsquo;s earlier entries when he took 6 for 32 in 1982. Mohammad Asif added his name in 2006 with 5 for 77 before Mohammad Amir returned a decade later with 5 for 52.

Yasir Shah became the most recent Pakistan bowler to reach the mark before Abbas, taking 6 for 72 in 2016.

Abbas&rsquo; performance came after England had established a sizeable lead in the second Test. Dan Lawrence made 54 before becoming one of Pakistan&rsquo;s wickets on the fourth day, while Josh Tongue scored 12 before being run out by Babar Azam.

England were eventually dismissed in 54.2 overs, setting up a challenging run chase for Pakistan and giving Abbas a place in the history of one of international cricket&rsquo;s most recognised venues.

Mohammad Abbas earned a spot on the Lord’s Test Honours Board with a brilliant 5 for 57, restricting England to 208 and leaving Pakistan chasing 389.
