On Day 3 of the third Ashes Test at Adelaide Oval, Travis Head’s stellar 142* was key to Australia’s commanding lead of 356 runs, with only four wickets remaining at the end of the day. His unbroken partnership with Alex Carey, who contributed 52*, added 122 runs, allowing Australia to take control.

Australia 371 and 271 for 4 (Head 142, Carey 52) lead by 356 runs.

Head’s knock marked his second century of the series, further solidifying his place as one of Australia’s top openers. Along with Carey, Head accelerated in the final session of the day, further increasing the gap between the two teams. England’s bowlers struggled, particularly in the final overs, as Head continued to punish any loose deliveries.

England put up a bit of a fight in the morning; Stokes and Jofra Archer were batting as they meant it, trying to cut down that lead to under 100 runs.

Stokes hung in there, tough as nails, until Starc got him; Archer also got out on 51, and England’s 1st innings ended on 286. England couldn't pull off one of those crazy chases from before, but Ben Stokes showed that the “Bazball” thing is still kicking, even if they lost in the end

Head was on fire in Australia’s second innings, pushing his century in 146 balls, as he made extending the lead look effortless, handling both pace and spin with ease. That reverse sweep off Jacks and Root to get to 100, standout stuff.

Head rotated strike, picked boundaries sharply, kept England's bowlers under the thumb. Jack got Khawaja out for a moment, but Head and Carey shut that down with 122 runs together, no collapse there.
