All-Round Show from Nasum, Emon Helps Sylhet Titans Beat Rangpur Riders

All-Round Show from Nasum, Emon Helps Sylhet Titans Beat Rangpur Riders

Sylhet Titans defeated Rangpur Riders comfortably in the ongoing BPL 2026 season. Nasum Ahmed was the star performer of the match, as his bowling performance in the first innings was outstanding. Due to his tight bowling, Rangpur Riders managed to post just 114 on the board, which was later chased down easily by Sylhet Titans in the second innings of the match.

Batting first, Rangpur Riders displayed a very poor performance throughout the first innings. Their batters never looked comfortable against the Titans’ bowling lineup, which was more disciplined and organized in large parts of the innings. The opening duo of Towhid Hridoy and Kyle Mayers failed miserably, as Shohidul Islam and Nasum Ahmed removed them quickly in the Powerplay.

After their dismissal, Litton Das came up with a counterpunch to negate the attack of Sylhet Titans. He made a little partnership with Iftekhar Ahmed, but was dismissed afterwards by Shohidul Islam. He got out after scoring 22 runs, hitting four boundaries in total. The wicket of Litton Das eventually impacted the scoring rate of Riders, as incoming batters found it difficult to hit boundaries quickly.

Khushdil Shah was playing steadily in the middle overs; however, an unfortunate run out ended his fighting innings of 30 runs. His dismissal brought more pressure on Rangpur Riders’ batting lineup, as the lower order failed to lift the scoring rate. Mahmudullah tried to hit big boundaries in the final overs, but Salman Irshad removed him with a superb bowling spell.

Due to an overall disappointing batting display in the first innings, Rangpur Riders managed to score just 114 runs in the first innings. Khushdil Shah remained their only notable performer, as he scored 30 runs with the help of three boundaries.

A Comfortable Target Chase by Sylhet Titans

Sylhet Titans started the chase confidently, as their openers came out with a positive intent. Both Tawfique Khan and Parvez Hossain Emon played confidently in the Powerplay to score quick runs. Their opening partnership took the game away from Riders, who were looking for quick wickets to build some pressure.

Tawfique Khan got out after scoring 33 runs, giving Titans a solid base in the chase. After his wicket, Parvez Hossain Emon continued to play positively with other batters, who also made notable contributions to the scoreboard.

As the target was just 115 runs, Sylhet Titans didn’t face any major hiccups in the second innings. Parvez Hossain Emon stood firm at the crease, scoring an unbeaten 52 to seal the chase comfortably in the end. His knock helped Sylhet Titans cruise to victory in just 17.3 overs, securing third place on the points table.
