Sylhet Titans secured a thrilling victory over Noakhali Express by chasing the target of 144 runs on the last ball of the match. It was an absolute thriller, as Titans only had 1 wicket in hand to complete the chase. They held their nerves and sealed the victory, showcasing why they are a strong fighting unit.
Parvez Hossain Emon remained the star batter, as his knock of 60 runs gave Sylhet Titans a hard-fought victory over Noakhali Express in BPL 2026. He is an in-form batter who also played strongly against Rajshahi Warriors in the first match of the tournament.
Batting first, Noakhali Express endured a horrible start, as both their openers got out quickly without scoring any runs. The in-form Maaz Sadaqat was a huge disappointment in this match, as he was dismissed by Mohammad Amir on a golden duck.
This dismissal of both openers brought huge pressure on Noakhali Express, as they went into rebuilding mode quite early in the match. The captain, Shykat Ali, tried to build a steady partnership with Mahidul Islam Ankon, so that they could move ahead in the match without losing more wickets.
Both of them played smartly, however, the golden arm of Saim Ayub finally removed Shykat Ali to give Titans another breakthrough. Mahidul Islam Ankon then went on to play sensibly with Sabbir Hossain, however, he also got out after scoring just 15 runs.
With wickets tumbling, Mahidul Islam Ankon took the responsibility on his own shoulders and started hitting boundaries to lift the scoring rate. He was well supported by Jaker Ali at the other end, who also scored quick 29 runs off 17 balls in the death overs. The late surge from Mahidul Islam Ankon and Jaker Ali helped Noakhali Express reach a strong total. They scored 143 runs at the end of the first innings for the loss of seven wickets.
From the bowling perspective, Khaled Ahmed remained the key performer for Sylhet Titans as he picked up 4 wickets in four overs while conceding just 23 runs.
When Sylhet Titans came out to bat, they also started the innings poorly. Their star overseas signing, Saim Ayub, got out without scoring any runs. Similarly, the other opener Rony Talukdar also failed to make any impact on the crease, as he was dismissed cheaply for just 9 runs.
These early blows disrupted the batting plans of Titans, however, the arrival of Parvez Hossain Emon steadied their innings again. He analyzed the situation perfectly and played sensible cricket to give Titans stability in the middle. His partnership with Mehidy Hasan Miraz was crucial, as both players batted cautiously to take the game deep.
The dismissal of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Parvez Hossain Emon in the last part of the innings made the match interesting. Parvez played a superb knock of 60 runs, however, he failed to remain at the crease till the end due to some clever bowling by Zahir Khan.
The match became more interesting when Noakhali Express bowlers took back-to-back wickets to send the tailenders of Sylhet Titans back to the crease. The game then went down to the last over, in which Ethan Brookes smashed two big boundaries to take Titan’s score close to the target. He was dismissed on the second-last ball, bringing Salman Irshad to the crease, who held his nerve to seal the win on the final delivery. That’s how the fourth match of the BPL 2026 summed up, with Sylhet Titans emerging as the well-deserved winners.
