DUBAI: Another Pakistani sensation to mark the cricket season is Saim Ayub, who has climbed into the top 10 ICC T20I all-rounder rankings. His bat and ball performances have also earned him international popularity, thus ranking him as the best T20I all-rounder in Pakistan. Ayub being elevated is a pointer to how he has gained more power in the squad, and this bodes well for Pakistan’s future in the T20 format.
The most recent ICC terminology comes after Pakistan showed off to the world in the recent tri-nation series against Afghanistan and the UAE, which Pakistan clinched with a resounding victory in the final. His qualities are an all-rounder that have currently made Ayub one of the best T20I players in the world.
No Pakistani batter has maintained a place in the top 20, but the batting of skipper Salman Ali Agha, who has moved 9 places up to feature in the rankings at position 57, and that of Fakhar Zaman, who has moved 9 places up to position 68, are encouraging. Former players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who have not played a T20I since December 2024, have also dropped to 24th and 28th, respectively.
Pakistan gave good signs on the bowling side, even though it failed to qualify in the top 10. Wrist spinner Sufiyan Muqeem also advanced by seven positions to 15th, Shaheen Afridi to 22nd, and Abrar Ahmed jumped spectacularly by 39 positions to claim position number 27. Mohammad Nawaz has also improved his 13 positions and comes in the top 30.
The best Pakistani all-rounder is Saim Ayub, who makes it to the top 10, with Mohammad Nawaz being ranked 16th. After Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi and Nepal Dipendra Singh Airee, and India Hardik Pandya are still at the top.
This rise to power of Saim Ayub is a reward for his efforts and talent, and he is rapidly becoming a significant figure in the Pakistani T20I future. His fans will be excited to see him maintain this high level in upcoming matches.
