The Multan Sultans have reached 58/1 after five overs in a strong chase against Rawalpindi Pindiz. Pindiz players are keeping the required run rate within touching distance in Match 14 of PSL 2026.
Chasing 183, Sultans suffered an early setback when the veteran Mohammad Amir struck in his opening over. Amir, displaying his trademark swing, induced an edge from the opener, Smith (5). However, the early wicket failed to dampen the Sultans' intent.
Josh Philippe and Sahibzada Farhan have since stabilized the innings with aggressive strokeplay. Philippe has looked particularly dangerous, racing to 22* off just 14 deliveries, including four elegant boundaries. Farhan, playing the anchor role with flair, has contributed 31* as the pair exploited the remaining Powerplay overs to keep the scoreboard ticking above 9.00 runs per over.
Earlier in the evening, RawalPindiz posted 182/8 with a blistering half-century from Sam Billings (56 off 34) and a late-innings cameo by Dian Forrester. Multan’s young spin sensation, Faisal Akram, turned the game in the middle overs with a career-best haul of 4/31.
With 125 runs required from the final 14 overs, the match remains on a knife-edge. The Pindiz will look to their spinners to dry up the runs, while Multan aims to carry this momentum past the Powerplay.
