Spain Maintain Perfect Nations League Run With Dominating Win Over Czech Republic

Spain moved to the top of UEFA Nations League Group C after beating the Czech Republic 3-1 at home. The result also extended their unbeaten run in competitive matches to 41 games, with 31 wins and 10 draws.

Spain were back in Oviedo for the first time in 11 years and went into the game as clear favorites. On the other hand, Czech Republic arrived without a win in their last five matches, having recorded one draw and four defeats.

Speaking about the match, Spain started strongly and took the lead in the sixth minute. Lamine Yamal produced a brilliant finish from 18 yards, curling the ball into the far corner to score in his third straight game for the national team.

The hosts continued to dominate after taking the lead. Dani Olmo came close from inside the box, while Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky made good saves to keep out Alex Baena and Pedri.

Despite tough resistance from the visitors, Spain eventually found a second goal in the 35th minute after Rodri made the most of a loose ball inside the penalty area. He kept his composure and sent a well-placed finish into the top corner to give the hosts a two-goal cushion.

Spain then made two changes during the interval, but did not lose their grip on the game after the substitutions. Roberto Fernandez tried his luck with a low shot, but Kinsky once again came to the Czech Republic’s rescue.

The visitors then pulled one back in the 69th minute. Hlozek’s pass found Slama, who finished into the bottom corner to reduce the deficit and give the Czech Republic some hope of a comeback.

The goal gave the Czech Republic a lift as they pushed for an equalizer. They thought they had found it when Ryan Naderi scored from close range, but the substitute’s effort was ruled out after the referee spotted a foul during the move.

Spain got another boost with five minutes left when Ladislav Krejci received a second yellow card for a foul on Fernandez. The dismissal left the visitors with 10 men and made Spain’s task much easier.

Spain took advantage of the extra man and settled the game through Mikel Merino, who finished from a loose ball inside the box. His late strike sealed the win for the world champions, allowing them to close out the home contest with a convincing 3-1 victory.
