Oyarzabal Hits Double As Dominant Spain Beats Saudi Arabia In World Cup 2026

Atlanta: Spain beats Saudi Arabia 4-0 in a dominant FIFA World Cup 2026 match at Atlanta Stadium.

First Half: Spain Takes Control

Spain took charge of the game right from the opening whistle. They used quick passes and a strong press to keep Saudi Arabia trapped in their own half. It took only 10 minutes for Spain to score the first goal. Teenage star Lamine Yamal got the ball on the right side, cut past two defenders, and kicked a beautiful curved shot into the far corner of the net. This goal made him the second-youngest player ever to score in a World Cup match.

Saudi Arabia struggled to keep up with Spain's fast movements. In the 21st minute, Mikel Oyarzabal easily tapped the ball into the net. Just three minutes later, Oyarzabal scored again. He took advantage of a mistake by the Saudi defense and kicked a low, powerful shot past the goalkeeper. This quick double put Spain up 3-0 before the first half was even over.

Second Half: Spain Seals the Victory

Saudi Arabia tried to play better after the break. They pushed more players forward to try and score a goal. However, Spain quickly ended any hope of a comeback in the 49th minute.  Marc Cucurella hit a strong volley that was saved by the goalkeeper and then bounced off Saudi defender Hassan Altambakti into the net. This own goal made the score 4-0.

With a huge four-goal lead, Spain spent the rest of the match controlling the game. They passed the ball around easily to run down the clock. Saudi Arabia found it very hard to get past Spain's solid defense, finishing the game with only one shot on target. The Spanish coach used the final part of the match to rest his star players and bring on substitutes. The game ended in a comfortable 4-0 win for Spain.

Group H Outlook

This big win puts Spain at the top of Group H with four points. They are now in a great position to move on to the next round. Saudi Arabia stays on one point and will need to win their final group match to stay in the tournament.
