Shaun Tait Confident Bangladesh Can Dismiss Pakistan on Last Day
Bangladesh bowling coach Shaun Tait is confident that his team can bowl Pakistan out on the final day of the Sylhet Test. He believes Bangladesh have bowled well throughout the match and will eventually get the rewards for their efforts on the last day.
"Well, I think we'll bowl them out on the fifth day. We have been bowling well generally, so I think what happens then [is that] you expect it every day. It doesn't always work that way. We are in a good position now.” said Shaun Tait while talking to the reporters.
“It was a very hot day, so the conditions were difficult conditions. The wicket became really good. These are not excuses. I think if you look at it now, we're in a good position." added Shaun Tait.
Shaun then applauded the glovework of Litton Das, saying he has been exceptional behind the stumps from the start of the series.
"He has been so tidy behind the stumps. He has been fantastic. We have mentioned it in the change rooms after games actually. We have given him a bit of a hand with the way he's been keeping. It makes a huge difference, there's no doubt about that.” said Bangladesh bowling coach Shaun Tait.
“Litton's keeping at the moment is just absolutely world-class. I think, to be honest, the way he's batting, I think as a cricketer at the moment he's probably at the top of his game." added Shaun Tait.
Tait further said that Bangladesh remained calm despite a big partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha. They knew that the match could change quickly, particularly when Mushfiqur nearly ran Agha out with a direct hit in the 73rd over.
"I tell you what: there was some excitement in the dugout when that run-out [chance] was so close. We thought that was the breakthrough we needed, and then it came through Taijul. We were not tense, but excited.” said Shaun Tait.
Speaking about the wickets, Shaun said the pitches in Bangladesh have been good lately, as they have produced plenty of interesting matches.
"The wickets have been quite good for cricket in Bangladesh recently, whether it be the white-ball series that we have had recently, and the Tests. I think they're doing a really good job. Other people see wickets differently, and expect different things. But the way I look at it, the pitches are producing some pretty good cricket to watch." concluded Shaun Tait.
