Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi looked visibly disappointed after the recent loss against Quetta Gladiators. He urged the bowlers to show more passion in the upcoming games, as their recent performances have not been up to the mark.
Speaking after the Lahore Qalandars vs Quetta Gladiators clash, Shaheen admitted that his team is struggling at the moment, but is not yet out of the tournament.
"It is true that we are struggling right now, particularly with the bat in these Karachi conditions, but we are by no means out of the tournament," said Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi.
"Bowlers need to step up in the middle overs and take wickets." added Shaheen Shah Afridi.
After losing three matches in a row, the defending champions are now seventh on the table with just four points. To make it to the playoffs, they need a big comeback and must win all four of their remaining games.
Their next PSL clash will be against winless RawalPindiz at the same venue on Sunday. After that, they will face Quetta Gladiators again on Tuesday at their home ground, which is expected to be a cracking game.
Referring to the upcoming matches, Shaheen called them a great opportunity for the Qalandars to make a comeback, as the tournament is not finished for them .
He also made it clear that the situation is simple for Qalandars, as they now have to win all four remaining matches to remain alive in the PSL 2026 season.
"The upcoming back-to-back matches are an opportunity for our batters to step up. We have to keep believing in ourselves and divert our energies in winning the upcoming matches. It has to be a team effort as it takes a team to win the matches, not an individual," said Shaheen Shah Afridi.
"We have four games left, and the equation is simple: we have to win all of them. While we know that is no easy task, we are ready to give it everything." added Shaheen Shah Afridi.
