LAHORE: The T20I team of Pakistan continued their vigorous training before the three-match series with Australia and spent yet another fruitful day in the camp. The camp began on Sunday and has brought the national side together for intense practice as the team finalizes its combinations and match preparations.
On the second day, the players engaged in a scenario-based, match designed to simulate real-game situations, and it was scenario-based. The teams were divided and chased or defended different targets, and allowed the coaches to assess the decision-making abilities of the players when they are under pressure.
The highlight of the day was the remarkable century of Saim Ayub. The left-hander scored 106 runs with clear intent and strong ball-striking. During his innings, he hit eight sixes and nine fours, which showed his increasing confidence before the international series.
Ayub’s knock is a positive indicator of the performance of the Pakistan batting line, particularly with the team aiming to deliver strong starts at the top of the order in the Pakistan vs Australia T20I series.
There was a momentary panic when all-rounder Faheem Ashraf was struck by a ball from Babar Azam. Faheem was forced to get out of the field and go back to the pavilion. The officials in the team reported that no serious injury was experienced and that they will provide updates as required.
The three-match T20I series will be staged at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from 29 January to 1 February. All matches are scheduled to begin at 4pm PKT, with the toss taking place at 3:30pm PST.
Australia is set to arrive in Pakistan on Wednesday, 28 January. This tour marks only their second T20I series on Pakistani soil, following a solitary appearance in April 2022 at the same venue.
