Sahibzada Farhan Secures No.2 Sport In Latest ICC T20 Rankings

Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan is right on the doorstep of the summit in the latest ICC T20 rankings. The numbers tell the story. But the manner of his rise reflects his hardwork.

Sahibzada Farhan moved up one spot to No.2 with 848 rating points after a remarkable ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign. India’s Abhishek Sharma stands ahead of him now. 

England’s Phil Salt, slipped to third as the table reshuffled.

The shift did not happen quietly. Farhan lit up the tournament with fearless strokeplay and crisp timing. Two centuries in a single World Cup edition. No other batter managed that this year. Stadiums buzzed every time he walked out to open.

Pakistan players see mixed movement in rankings

While the Sahibzada Farhan ICC rankings rise grabbed attention, several Pakistan teammates slid down the chart.

Saim Ayub dropped to 35th. Babar Azam followed closely at 37th, after losing one position. T20I captain Salman Ali Agha slipped three spots and now sits at 41st.

Then came a late spark from Fakhar Zaman. His explosive 84 against Sri Lanka in the Super Eights jolted his standing upward. Seventeen places gained in a single update. He now occupies 71st with 481 points.

The bowling charts carried a different tone for Pakistan.

Mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed climbed two places and now holds third in the ICC T20 rankings. He has 736 points in top bowlers list. India’s Varun Chakaravarthy leads that list while Afghanistan's captain Rashid Khan remains second.

Further down the order, Mohammad Nawaz held his 12th spot. Shaheen Afridi slipped to 35th. Haris Rauf also lost ground and moved to 84th.

But the spotlight remains on Farhan.

One more big series and the Sahibzada Farhan ICC rankings story could reach its final step. The gap at the top suddenly feels smaller. And the chase is very real now.
