Real Madrid Move Level With Barcelona After Comfortable Win Over Valencia

Real Madrid delivered an impressive performance to secure a comfortable 3-0 victory over Valencia in their La Liga encounter at Mestalla. Goals from Federico Valverde, Arda Guler and Kylian Mbappe ensured a convincing away victory for the visitors, while Valencia struggled to find a response against Madrid's attacking quality.

The opening stages saw Real Madrid gradually establish control of possession, looking to create opportunities through their attacking players. Valencia, meanwhile, attempted to remain organized defensively while searching for openings on the counterattack. The home side showed some attacking ambition and nearly produced an early breakthrough in the 20th minute.

Aaron Mayol made an important interception outside the Madrid penalty area before unleashing a dangerous effort towards goal. However, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois reacted brilliantly, stretching to his side to produce an excellent save and prevent Valencia from taking the lead.

That opportunity appeared to encourage Valencia, but Real Madrid soon demonstrated their quality in front of goal. The breakthrough arrived in the 28th minute following a free-kick involving Kylian Mbappe. Madrid's initial effort was blocked, but the rebound fell perfectly for Federico Valverde, who unleashed a powerful half-volley into the net to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage.

The goal changed the momentum of the contest, with Madrid becoming increasingly confident in possession and more dangerous in the attacking areas.

Just eight minutes later, Real Madrid doubled their lead. Jude Bellingham played an important role in the attacking move, with his delivery taking a deflection before reaching Arda Guler inside the penalty area. The Turkish midfielder made no mistake, calmly finishing to put Madrid 2-0 ahead in the 36th minute.

Valencia suddenly faced a difficult challenge, having conceded twice within a short period. The home side attempted to recover before half-time, but Madrid maintained their advantage. Güler nearly added another goal shortly before the interval, forcing Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski into an impressive save with a long-range effort.

After the break, Valencia returned with greater attacking urgency, hoping to reduce the deficit and make the contest competitive again. Despite their repeated attempts, Real Madrid eventually delivered the decisive third goal in the 75th minute. Arda Guler produced an excellent through ball to release Kylian Mbappe, who moved into the penalty area and finished confidently past Dimitrievski to make it 3-0 on the board.

The situation became even more difficult for the home side four minutes later when captain Jose Gaya received a straight red card following a foul on Mbappe. Valencia were consequently reduced to ten players, making an already challenging situation even harder.

With a three-goal advantage and numerical superiority, Los Blancos then sealed the game comfortably. They are now level on points with Barcelona, suggesting that the La Liga title race is set to become more competitive in the coming days.
