Quetta Gladiators vs Hyderabad Kingsmen Live: Riley’s Double Strike Stuns Quetta in Powerplay

The powerplay phase at the Gaddafi Stadium has set the stage for a gripping contest as the Hyderabad Kingsmen’s pace attack, led by a fiery Riley Meredith, dismantled the Quetta Gladiators’ top order in the opening six overs of Match 5 of PSL 11. 

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Quetta’s strategy to capitalize on the hard new ball backfired under the disciplined lines of the tournament newcomers.

The Gladiators struggled to find their rhythm early, losing skipper Saud Shakeel for just 4 runs as Meredith extracted sharp bounce to find the outside edge. In the 4th over, he got Rilee Rossouw (0). 

While young Shamyl Hussain showed glimpses of defiance, clobbering two boundaries and a towering six in a brisk 28 off 22 balls, his stay was cut short just as he looked to dominate. 

By the end of the field restrictions, Quetta stood at a precarious 45/2, with the Kingsmen clearly holding the tactical edge.
