The Pakistan cricket team will sport a new pink-themed kit in the 1st T20I against South Africa at Rawalpindi. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the kit in a social media post yesterday. The decision to don the pink kit has been taken to raise awareness about breast cancer. This will be the first time in history that Pakistan will sport a new kit other than the green shirt, showcasing its commitment to a greater cause in society.

During the match, the South African team, commentators, and other match officials will also wear the Pink Ribbon to support the cause. Besides that, pink-themed wickets will be used in both innings, and cancer awareness messages will be shown during the live broadcast.

This initiative has been taken in collaboration with the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Trust Hospital, which is based in Lahore. The Chief Operating Officer of PCB, Sumair Ahmed Syed, has praised this effort. He said that the match will showcase Pakistan’s commitment towards a social cause that needs widespread awareness.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board takes immense pride in using the power and reach of cricket to create awareness about causes that affect our society,” said Sumair Ahmed Syed.

He further stated that the Pink Ribbon campaign will help them to spread the message of early breast cancer detection by taking timely tests and screenings.

“Through the Pink Ribbon campaign, we aim to highlight the importance of early detection and regular screening for breast cancer, which can save countless lives.” said Sumair Ahmed Syed.

Pakistan will take on South Africa in the 1st T20I at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on October 28. Both teams are eager to showcase strong performance in the first game, as winning it will set the tone for the rest of the series.
