Eyman Fatima Powers Pakistan To Series-Clinching Win Over Zimbabwe

Pakistan Women delivered a dominant performance against Zimbabwe Women in the 2nd T20I clash at Karachi. They won the match by 67 runs, courtesy of Eyman Fatima, who played a superb knock in the first innings to give the green shirts a solid total on the board.

With this victory, Pakistan also secured an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the series. The third and final match will be played at the same venue on Friday.

Chasing a difficult target of 171 runs, Zimbabwe Women could only manage 103/8 in their 20 overs and eventually suffered a defeat that also cost them the series.

Captain Nomvelo Sibanda was the top scorer for the visitors with an unbeaten 18 off 37 balls, while the tailender Kudzai Chigora remained not out on 14.

Other Zimbabwe batters also struggled to make an impact against Pakistan’s tight bowling performance. Adel Zimunu and Lindokuhle Mabhero added 12 runs each, while Beloved Biza scored 11 and Natasha Mtomba chipped in with 10 runs.

Nashra Sandhu led Pakistan’s bowling attack with impressive figures of 2/18 in her three overs. Meanwhile, Sadia Iqbal, Tuba Hassan, Ayesha Zafar, Natalia Pervaiz and skipper Fatima Sana contributed with a wicket each.

After choosing to bat first, Pakistan managed to put up 170/4 on the board in their 20 overs. The innings was lifted by a valuable unbeaten partnership between Eyman Fatima and Natalia Pervaiz, who added 78 runs together for the fifth wicket.

Pakistan had a quick start to their innings, with Muneeba Ali and Gull Feroza adding 27 runs for the first wicket. Feroza, who made nine, was then dismissed by Michelle Mavunga on the third ball of the fifth over.

Things got worse for Pakistan soon after, as they lost two more wickets in quick succession. Ayesha Zafar, who had scored a century in the last match, managed just four runs, while returning batter Iram Javed was dismissed for five.

Eyman then came in to join Muneeba at the crease, and both played carefully to build a 46-run stand for the fourth wicket. Muneeba was later dismissed in the 14th over by Lindokuhle Mabhero after scoring 36 runs off 33 balls, including four boundaries.

Eyman then held her nerves and took the innings deep, making sure to hit regular boundaries towards the end. Due to her stunning 79 off just 43 balls, Pakistan managed to score 170 in the end, which eventually proved too big to chase for the visitors in the second innings.
