PCB Announces Pakistan’s Squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

PCB Announces Pakistan’s Squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

Lahore, January 25, 2026: Pakistan have locked in a fresh-looking 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, blending established names with a clutch of first-time tournament selections as they prepare for the global event starting next month.

Pakistan T20 World Cup 2026 squad was announced at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, with PCB Director High Performance Aqib Javed joined by T20I captain Salman Ali Agha and white-ball head coach Michael James Hesson. Pakistan is drawn in Group A and will open their campaign against the Netherlands on February 7 in Colombo.

A notable feature of the selection is the trust placed in new faces. Salman Ali Agha will lead Pakistan at a senior ICC event for the first time, while Faheem Ashraf, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Sahibzada Farhan, and Usman Tariq have all earned maiden World Cup call-ups. The selectors signalled a clear intent to reward recent domestic and international form rather than lean solely on experience.

The core of Pakistan’s recent T20 sides remains intact. Pakistan will fine-tune their preparations with a three-match T20I series against Australia in Lahore from January 29, with the training camp already underway as focus sharpens ahead of Colombo.
