Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi have been recalled into Pakistan’s T20I set up following their absence in the Sri Lankan away series earlier in January. Their comeback is a great addition to the batting and bowling departments.
Shadab Khan, who has recently made his return in the last T20I series, is also included in the team and will be instrumental in Pakistan’s spin attack. He is accompanied by Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, and Usman Tariq.
The Pakistan team and crew are to be gathered in Lahore on Saturday, 24 January. Preparations will begin the following day, as the team will start with proper training sessions ahead of the three-match series.
On Wednesday, 28 January, Australia will arrive in Pakistan. This is only their second T20I series on Pakistani soil after April 2022. The series contributes another chapter to the growing cricketing ties between the two countries.
