Pakistan Opts to Field Against South Africa in the 1st T20I at Rawalpindi

After winning the toss, Pakistan has decided to bowl first against South Africa in the 1st T20I at Rawalpindi. They have made the decision keeping in view the past record of the ground, in which teams have won more matches while chasing the target. South Africa will now try to put on a strong total on the board, as the surface looks highly conducive for batting.

The green shirts have made plenty of changes to their squad, especially by bringing Babar Azam back into the team. His return will bolster the middle order of the team that struggled quite badly during the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025. Usman Khan is also a notable change, as he has returned to the squad by replacing Mohammad Haris.  

South Africa will also feel confident for today’s match, as their side is bolstered by the return of Quinton de Kock. He recently reversed his ODI retirement, giving a clear indication that he wants to play for South Africa in both formats, ODI and T20s.

The match is now underway, as South Africa has made a strong start by scoring 111 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in just 10 overs. It will be interesting to see how Pakistan claw their way back, as the visitors are currently running away with the game.
