Pakistan Greens Defeat Blues to Seal National Champions Cup Final Spot

Pakistan Greens produced a strong all-round display to beat Pakistan Blues by 192 runs in the fifth match of the National Champions Cup 2026. Mohammad Suleman led the way with a brilliant unbeaten century before the Greens’ bowlers finished the job with a disciplined performance.

It was the Greens’ third win in a row, which also secured their place in the final. The title match will take place at the same venue on August 18.

The Whites are currently second in the standings and must beat Gold to face the Greens in the final. If Gold wins the match, the Blues will move into the final instead.

Greens captain Shadab Khan chose to bat first, and the decision worked well as his team finished their 50 overs on 302/6. Sameer Minhas started the innings steadily, but eventually went back to the pavilion in the 10th over when the score was just 39.

Omair then tried to steady the innings with Saad Baig, but their partnership lasted for only 29 runs. Mohammad Faiq broke the stand in the 15th over by removing Omair, who scored 33 off 57 balls.

Suleman then came in at No. 4 after Omair’s dismissal and changed the pace of the innings. He joined Baig and put the pressure back on the Blues’ bowlers, putting together a huge 135-run partnership.

Sufiyan Muqeem finally ended the partnership in the 36th over by removing Baig. The batter finished with a valuable 77 off 73 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes.

Suleman continued to lead the innings after Baig’s departure and added another 90 runs with Farhan Yousaf for the fourth wicket. Yousaf also played an aggressive knock and brought up a quick half-century to help the Greens post a big total of 302.

In the second innings, Pakistan Blues never looked in control, as their batters kept losing their wickets one after another.

Arafat Minhas was the only Blues batter to offer some resistance, scoring a fighting 38 off 40 balls. However, the rest of the batting line-up, including Sahibzada Farhan and Mohammad Faiq, failed to make much of an impact.

Due to this poor batting effort, Pakistan Blues were bowled out for just 110 in the second innings. They will now hope that Gold beat Whites in the upcoming match, which would allow them to reach the tournament final.
