The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday confirmed its 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to be held in England and Wales between June 12 and July 5.
Fatima Sana will captain Pakistan Women in the upcoming tournament. The all-rounder is set for her second spell as team captain.
Right-arm fast bowler Diana Baig has returned to the squad in place of Amber Kainat. Apart from that change, Pakistan have kept the same group of players that recently secured a 3-0 whitewash over Zimbabwe at home.
Pakistan will aim to improve their results after struggling in recent ICC tournaments. In the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, they were knocked out in the group stage after managing just one win in four matches. Earlier, in the 2022 edition, they ended at the bottom of the table with six losses in seven games.
Their ODI World Cup campaign last year was also disappointing, as Pakistan finished without a single victory and ended at the bottom of the standings once again, although three of their matches were abandoned due to rain.
Before the World Cup begins, Pakistan will tour Ireland for a tri-series featuring Ireland and West Indies from May 28 to June 4 in Dublin.
Pakistan will open their World Cup campaign against India on June 14 in Birmingham. After that, they will face South Africa, who were runners-up in the 2024 tournament, followed by matches against Bangladesh, Australia and Netherlands. The team will also play warm-up games against Sri Lanka and Scotland before the tournament starts.
