Solano Names Shaheens: Pakistan Announced FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 Squad

Pakistan will face Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam in the group stage of the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup after the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) finalised its 23-man squad for the tournament.

The Pakistan squad for FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 includes a combination of locally based players and members of the national side playing overseas. Head coach Nolberto Solano will take charge of the team as Pakistan make their first appearance in a FIFA tournament at senior men's level.

Pakistan are in Group B of Division One, with their opening fixture against Thailand scheduled for September 26. They will then play the Philippines on September 29 before closing their group campaign against Vietnam on October 2.

The competition will be staged in Indonesia and Hong Kong, China, from September 24 to October 5. Division One, which includes eight teams, will be played in Indonesia, with the group winners advancing to the final and the runners-up meeting in a third-place play-off.

The Pakistan announced FIFA ASEAN Cup squad features several established international players, including Abdullah Iqbal, Easah Suliman and Kaleem Ullah, alongside younger players such as Abdul Samad. 

The final selection is:

Yousuf Butt, Hassan Ali, Saqib Hanif, Abdullah Shah, Abdul Rahman, Ali Khan, Ali Agha, Hayyan Khattak, Ali Uzair, Alamgir Ghazi, Ali Raza, Abdul Samad Arshad, Kaleem Ullah, Shayek Dost, Abdullah Iqbal, Easah Suliman, Mohib Ullah, Mamoon Khan, Mohd Fazal, Haris Zeb, Umer Nawaz, Abdul Samad and Ali Khan.

The inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup brings together 14 national teams, including all 11 ASEAN members and three guest sides. Pakistan and Bangladesh are the two guest teams competing in Division One alongside Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

The tournament uses a single-round-robin group format, with the two division winners decided through separate finals. FIFA has introduced the competition to provide additional meaningful international fixtures during the Men's International Match Calendar and strengthen football links across the region.

For Pakistan, the September tournament represents a new international test, with the side set to begin its campaign against Thailand before taking on two other teams from Southeast Asia.
