Pakistan Make History with Entry into Inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup

Pakistan football has received a big lift as the national team has secured a place in the first-ever FIFA ASEAN Cup. This will also mark the first time Pakistan will take part in a FIFA tournament later this year.

According to sources, FIFA has sent an invitation to Pakistan to join the newly introduced competition, and the Pakistan Football Federation has accepted it.

Pakistan have been placed in Division 1, where they will go up against India, hosts Indonesia, along with Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. The group is expected to be highly competitive, with strong teams from across the region.

This marks an important moment for Pakistan, as it will be the first time the country takes part in a FIFA tournament that is not linked to World Cup qualifiers or continental qualifying events.

As per reports, there has been growing coordination between FIFA and PFF President Mohsin Gilani, which has helped the national team secure a historic place in an international FIFA event.
