Shaheen Shah Afridi To Captain Pakistan In Bangladesh ODI Series

The Pakistan Cricket Board on 4 March confirmed a 15 player squad for the three match one day international series against Bangladesh national cricket team. The series is set to run from 11 to 15 March in Bangladesh.

All three fixtures will be staged at the iconic Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, providing a familiar venue for the hosts.

Left arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue to lead the ODI unit as Pakistan look to build momentum in the 50 over format.

A notable highlight of the Pakistan ODI squad is the inclusion of six uncapped cricketers. Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan and Shamyl Hussain have all been handed opportunities to represent the national side at ODI level for the first time.

Four of those newcomers Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Saad Masood and Shamyl Hussain recently featured for Pakistan Shaheens in their series against England Lions in Abu Dhabi, where they gained valuable experience in competitive conditions.

The selectors appear keen to blend youth with experience as Pakistan prepare for the challenging Bangladesh series in subcontinental conditions.

Full 15 Member Squad

Shaheen Shah Afridi (captain), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, Hussain Talat, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori (wk), Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Agha and Shamyl Hussain.

Tour Schedule Confirmed

Pakistan are scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on March 8, followed by a practice session on March 10.

The first ODI will be played on March 11 at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. The second and third matches are set for March 13 and March 15 respectively, all at the same venue.

With a fresh looking squad and a dynamic leader at the helm, Pakistan will aim to make a strong statement in the three match series.
