Gull Feroza Fifty Sets Up Consolation Victory As Pak Women Defeat NL Women In Bristol

Pak women defeat NL women by 37 runs in ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026. Pakistan signed off their campaign with a victory over the Netherlands at the Gloucestershire County Ground in Bristol.

A masterful unbeaten half-century from Gull Feroza and a devastating bowling performance by captain Fatima Sana ensured Pakistan avoided a last-place group finish. In contrast, it left the tournament debutants winless in their maiden World Cup appearance.

Opting to bat first on a sluggish surface, Pakistan overcame the early loss of opener Muneeba Ali to post a competitive 126 for 6 in their 20 overs. The recovery was mounted by Gull Feroza and the experienced Ayesha Zafar, who forged a crucial 79-run partnership for the second wicket. Feroza anchored the innings brilliantly, carrying her bat through to finish on 63 not out off 52 balls, decorated with eight boundaries. Zafar contributed a valuable 32 off 29 deliveries before she was dismissed in the 14th over.

The Netherlands bowling attack, spearheaded by Iris Zwilling, triggered a late Pakistani collapse. Zwilling picked up 2 for 19, strangling the lower order as Pakistan lost four wickets for just 16 runs in the death overs. Five Pakistani batters recorded single-figure scores, pegging what once looked like a 140-plus score back to a chaseable 126. The Dutch run-chase began with intent as opener Heather Siegers attacked the Pakistan pacers early on. Siegers blasted a quickfire 24 off 16 balls, including five boundaries, putting the debutants in a commanding position.

However, the game pivoted when Diana Baig trapped Siegers lbw with a well-disguised slower ball. Following the breakthrough, Pakistan's spinners squeezed the runs and suffocated the Dutch lineup. Captain Babette de Leede fought a lonely battle with a composed 30 off 41 balls, keeping her side in the hunt at 76 for 4 by the 15th over.

What followed was a catastrophic batting collapse that sealed the Netherlands' fate. Under immense scoreboard pressure, the Dutch team lost their final seven wickets for a mere 13 runs. Ayesha Zafar tore through the middle order with an exceptional spell of 3 for 13. Captain Fatima Sana applied the ultimate coup de grâce in the 18th over. Returning to the attack, Sana bowled a spectacular triple-wicket maiden, knocking back the stumps of De Leede and Silver Siegers with successive deliveries before cleaning up Caroline de Lange to wrap up the match.

The Netherlands folded for 89 in 18 overs, handing Pakistan a dominant victory to conclude their campaign on a winning note.
