Pakistan and South Africa are set to clash in a three-match odi series in Lahore, starting september 16, as both sides look to sharpen their skills ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
For Pakistan, this is the final assignment before the world cup begins on september 30. Captain Fatima Sana believes the series will allow her team to put their preparation into action.
“A series like this is very beneficial for the team ahead of the World Cup,” Sana said.
She added, “Everyone knows Pakistan rely on their bowling attack, so this time our focus will be on getting more support from the batting unit as well. We worked a lot on batting during the camp.”
South African skipper Laura Wolvaardt also sees the series as key to her team’s readiness. “The conditions will be similar to those at the world cup, so it’s a great opportunity for us to get ready. Pakistan are a good side with players who spin very well. I am expecting a strong contest,” she said.
