PCB named a 15-member women’s squad for the World Cup 2025. The event will start on September 30. The final will be on November 2. All matches for Pakistan will be played at the R. Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo. The semifinal is set for October 29, and the final will take place on November 2 at the same ground.
All-rounder Fatima Sana will captain the side for the first time in a World Cup. Pakistan will also play three ODIs against South Africa at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, from September 16 to 22 before the main event. The ODIs will help the team build momentum. The selection also reflects Pakistan’s investment in young talent.
Young batter Eyman Fatima has earned her first ODI call-up. She impressed during her T20I debut against Ireland. She joins other fresh names who will feature in their first World Cup. These include Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Shawal Zulfiqar, and Syeda Aroob Shah. Shawal Zulfiqar and Aroob Shah represented Pakistan at the ICC U19 T20 World Cup 2024. Their promotion highlights the focus on building a stronger future.
Two changes were made from the last qualifier squad. Eyman Fatima and Sadaf Shamas are included. Gul Feroza and Najiha Alvi have been shifted to non-travelling reserves along with Tuba Hassan, Umme Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar.
