Fast bowler Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the ongoing PSL 11 after sustaining a side injury while playing for RawalPindiz in their recent match against Karachi Kings. The franchise confirmed the development in an official statement, adding that the pacer will remain under medical supervision with hopes of a possible return later in the tournament if he regains fitness.
Team management said the medical staff are monitoring his rehabilitation and any return will depend on medical clearance. The franchise also expressed support for the fast bowler, describing him as an important member of the squad and stating they expect him to return once fully fit.
The injury comes during a difficult start to the season for Naseem Shah. He managed only one wicket in the match against Karachi Kings and went wicketless in his first appearance, where he conceded 51 runs. His absence is expected to affect the team’s bowling combination during the remaining matches of PSL 11.
Earlier in the tournament, Naseem Shah was also fined by the Pakistan Cricket Board following a social media controversy. The issue arose after a post from his account during the opening ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium drew attention online. The player later stated that his account had been hacked and the post was not made by him.
Following a disciplinary hearing, the PCB imposed a Rs20 million fine on the fast bowler for breaching central contract and social media guidelines.
With Naseem Shah now sidelined due to injury, RawalPindiz will need to adjust their bowling plans as the tournament moves into the later stages.
