KARACHI: Multan Sultans captain Ashton Turner won the toss and elected to field first against table-toppers Peshawar Zalmi at the National Stadium.
Explaining his decision, Turner cited the potential for dew later in the evening and a desire to put the Zalmi batters under early pressure on a surface that appeared to offer a hint of moisture. "The pitch looks solid, but we believe chasing will be the tactical advantage here under the lights," Turner noted during the toss.
Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam expressed no disappointment in being asked to bat first, highlighting his side’s recent clinical form in setting formidable totals. "We were looking to bat anyway. The goal is to maximize the powerplay and set a target that tests their middle order," Babar remarked.
With both sides occupying the top two spots in the standings, this clash serves as a potential preview of the qualifiers.
