Noskova Heads To US Open With A New Mental Approach After Wimbledon Triumph

Linda Noskova will be in the spotlight at the US Open 2026 after winning her maiden Grand Slam title at Wimbledon. Still, the Czech player insists that lifting the trophy at the All England Club has not changed her confidence level ahead of the New York tournament.

"No, for me, I always come to a tournament with a completely new kind of mental state, I guess," said Linda Noskova while talking to the reporters.

"For me, it has always been very important to focus on each match like nothing ever happened before. No success or no failure." added Linda Noskova.

Noskova came close to letting the Wimbledon final slip away after missing five match points against fellow Czech Karolina Muchova. She eventually held her nerve to win the grasscourt major, becoming the third Czech woman to lift the Wimbledon trophy in the last four years.

At just 21, Noskova said she is still adjusting to being a Grand Slam champion. However, the victory has also made her believe that she can go on to win more major titles in the future.

"It's still all brand new, so it's very tough to get used to whatever comes in this way," said Linda Noskova.

"But I feel like I have learned mainly the fact that ... it's possible for me to do it, for me to make it till the very end, and just lift Grand Slam trophy." added Linda Noskova.

After winning Wimbledon, Noskova found herself enjoying a series of new experiences, including a meeting with Czech President Petr Pavel, something she is still excited about.

"That was huge. I was so excited from the invite.” said Linda Noskova.

"But also, the things that like my hometown welcomed me. 3,000 people came to one place. That was incredible to see just a bunch of people that actually watched the match." added Linda Noskova.

For the unversed, the draw has placed Noskova in the same half as defending champion Aryna Sabalenka and third seed Jessica Pegula. She will start her US Open 2026 campaign against home player Katie Volynets in the first round.
