Leeds United Agree Deal To Sign Winger On A Harry Wilson Free Transfer
Leeds United are set to strengthen their attacking options with the expected arrival of Wales international Harry Wilson once his current deal expires at Fulham later this month.
The move would see Harry Wilson free transfer to Elland Road after the newly promoted Premier League side reached an agreement in principle with the 29-year-old forward. A medical is expected to complete the process before the transfer is formally announced.
Wilson attracted interest from several top-flight clubs following an impressive campaign in which he recorded 10 goals and seven assists in the Premier League. Despite efforts from Fulham to retain him beyond this season, the winger has decided to continue his career elsewhere.
The development means Harry is to leave Fulham after four seasons with the London club. During his time at Craven Cottage, Wilson became a regular contributor in attack and played an important role in helping Fulham establish themselves in the Premier League.
For Leeds, the deal represents an early statement of intent in the transfer market. Daniel Farke's side secured promotion last season and are now focused on building a squad capable of avoiding an immediate return to the Championship. Wilson's Premier League experience and attacking output are viewed as valuable additions to that objective.
Further recruitment plans underway
Leeds are expected to remain active throughout the transfer window. The club continue to assess options in midfield and attack, with several positions identified for reinforcement ahead of the new campaign.
One player under consideration is Julian Brandt, who could become available following the expiry of his contract with Borussia Dortmund. Leeds are also pursuing a move for Shea Charles, although negotiations remain ongoing after an opening offer failed to meet Southampton's valuation.
The club's recruitment team is also evaluating options in goal and defence. Contract uncertainty surrounding Karl Darlow and questions over long-term competition in several positions have increased the need for additional depth.
Squad decisions still to come
Leeds could yet see movement in both directions before the transfer window closes. Joel Piroe and Wilfried Gnonto continue to attract attention from clubs in England and abroad, while decisions are still being made regarding the club's attacking structure for next season.
The expected signing of Wilson would nevertheless provide Leeds with a proven Premier League performer as preparations continue for their return to the top flight.
