Lahore Qalandars defeated RawalPindiz in the latest PSL encounter by 32 runs. Fakhar Zaman remained the star performer, as his superlative knock of 84 runs made the difference for the Qalandars. With this victory, Lahore Qalandars are now positioned 6th on the PSL 2026 points table.
Batting first, Lahore Qalandars made a strong start, as Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Farooq played confidently in the Powerplay to put pressure on RawalPindiz. It allowed them to get a firm grip from the start of the innings, as RawalPindiz failed to find a breakthrough.
After scoring 63 off 41 balls, Farooq went back to the pavilion, however, Fakhar Zaman kept playing positively from the other end. He built a quick partnership with Abdullah Shafique, who also scored 26 runs with the help of a four and 2 sixes.
Meanwhile, Fakhar went more aggressive at the end of the innings, helping Lahore Qalandars to post a big total of 210. He eventually remained the star performer by scoring 84 runs, hitting 12 boundaries in total.
When RawalPindiz came out to bat, they started struggling from the beginning, as Shaheen Shah Afridi removed both openers early. Yasir Khan then took charge and produced a counterattack to steady the innings. He looked positive while taking the scoreboard forward, but other batters in the middle order kept losing their wickets.
After playing a brilliant knock of 58 runs, he returned to the pavilion, courtesy of Haris Rauf’s aggressive spell. The young all-rounder Saad Masood then played a stunning cameo of 54 runs to breathe some life into the chase, but the rising run rate got the better of him as well.
As a result, RawalPindiz managed to score just 178 in the second innings, as Lahore Qaladars bowled valiantly to defend the target. They won the match by 32 runs, keeping their hopes of playoffs qualification still alive.
