KK vs PZ: Zalmi Won by 7 Wickets as Kusal Mendis 80 & Farhan Yousaf 58 Lead Dominant Chase

Peshawar Zalmi won the match by 7 wickets, reaching 186/3 in 18.5 overs in the Karachi Kings vs Peshawar Zalmi match report. The chase was a complete team effort, highlighted by a remarkable turnaround after an early stumble in this KK vs PZ match PSL 2026.

James Vince started aggressively, scoring 16 off 10 balls with two fours and a six, giving Zalmi early momentum. However, his attacking approach led to his dismissal in the powerplay, preventing him from building a bigger innings.

Captain Babar Azam looked in excellent touch during his 25 off 19 balls. He played some classy strokes, hitting four boundaries and a six, but once again failed to convert a promising start into a match-winning knock, falling at a crucial stage.

Aaron Hardie struggled to make an impact, managing just 5 off 6 balls. His inability to rotate, strike or accelerate added slight pressure before his dismissal left Zalmi at 67/3.

The game then shifted entirely due to Kusal Mendis, who delivered a match-winning unbeaten 80 off 43 balls. He combined aggression with smart strike rotation, hitting five fours and four sixes. His ability to control the chase and accelerate at the right moments made him the standout performer of the match.

Farhan Yousaf emerged as the perfect partner, playing one of his best knocks under pressure. His unbeaten 58 off 36 balls included five boundaries and three sixes. Initially cautious, he built his innings steadily before attacking in the death overs, ensuring the required rate never spiraled out of control.

The unbeaten 100-run partnership between Mendis and Farhan for the fourth wicket was the defining moment of the match, completely taking the game away from Karachi Kings.

From Karachi Kings’ bowling side, Hasan Ali picked up the key wicket of Vince but was expensive, conceding 52 runs in his 3.5 overs. Abbas Afridi dismissed Babar Azam but also leaked 46 runs, struggling in the later stages.

Khushdil Shah managed to remove Hardie but went for 40 runs in his spell, failing to contain the middle overs. Zahid Mahmood was the most economical bowler, conceding just 26 runs in 4 overs and applying some control, though he remained wicketless.

Moeen Ali and Shahid Aziz also failed to make significant breakthroughs, allowing Zalmi’s middle order to dominate without much resistance.
